I tried installing another game on the same drive and it worked without issue. You can use Steam and shuffle around files every update so that the game lets you login with the WG acc, but that's a major pain in the neck and only really makes sense when - for example - you are using Linux and WGC completely fails to run in WINE, while the game itself runs perfectly under Steam Proton. All attempts ended with the same message below.

I also tried re-installing the app on a different drive. I have a couple of terabytes of free space and no issues with permission rights. I then rebooted and still have the same issue. Downloaded CCleaner and it cleared a bunch of associated registry items. I already deleted all files manually from the drive they were on. If you have an account on a parent's, college or business computer you may not have install privileges. If you do not encounter the issue in safe mode, then it is related to the installed modifications and they should be removed. Click the arrow in the section that is to the right of the Play button and choose the 'Launch the game without modifications' option from the pop-up menu. If the game still won't run because of incorrect permissions then make sure that your account actually has the ability to install files. To launch the game in safe mode: Open the Wargaming Game Center.

Now, download and run CCleaner, both the temporary file cleaner and the Registry cleaner. If a Registry entry or botched uninstall is preventing the game's re-install then you might try this:įirst, manually remove the folder C:\Games\World_of_Warships.
